Tasting Notes

For the 2017 vintage, we wanted to bring back Founder’s Reserve.  This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made with five barrels of wine John personally selected as his favorites from the 2017 vintage.  The vineyards represented in this wine are among the most highly acclaimed in the state:  Wallula Gap Vineyard (The Benches), Champoux Vineyard, Klipsun Vineyard, Stillwater Creek Vineyard, and Margaret’s Vineyard.  There are several clones of Cabernet Sauvignon represented in this wine including clone 8, clone 6, clone 7, clone 169  and clone 191.  Big, rich and delicious, the 2017 Founder’s Reserve was aged for twenty-six months in 100% new French oak barrels.  Smooth and easy to drink now, this wine can age for another 10 years.
