2018 Syrah (Ciel du Cheval)
Tasting Notes
Washington State Syrah is recognized as exceptional. In 1998, Ciel du Cheval planted clone 174 Syrah; we have been sourcing this Syrah for the last three years. As John was creating his blends for JM’s 2018 vintage, he kept returning to the Ciel Syrah as unique and exciting as a stand-alone wine. The complex flavors that caught his attention developed with eighteen months of aging in oak barrels (both Russian and French made up of 50% new and 50% once used). We think you will enjoy this wine that shows notes of Blackberry, oak spice, vanilla, and hints of smoky bacon. Yummy!
