2018 The Royal
Tasting Notes
This is a new wine featuring one of our world class vineyards in our newest named AVAs in Washington State; Stillwater Creek Vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA. This vineyard gets beautifully ripe and maintains acidity while building sugars in the fall. John decided that the 2018 vintage was the perfect time to feature a classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to showcase a medium to full bodied red wine, with high elevation (the vineyard is planted at 1,400 feet) acidity making it a delicious wine paired with Spring/Summer fare like leg of lamb, asparagus (prosciutto-wrapped or on its own), specialty cheese & charcuterie board and your first BBQ'd burgers of the season. The flavors focus on notes of dark cherry, spice, and the acidity provides a long, smooth finish on the wine. Enjoy!
