Tasting Notes

Over the course of 18 months of aging, John continuously tastes each barrel of Cabernet Sauvignon and chooses his favorites. He then blends those barrels together to create an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon worthy of the name Founder’s Reserve. The 2018 vintage represents two vineyards from our portfolio of sourced vineyards; Quintessence Vineyard (Red Mountain) clone 169 and Wallula Gap Vineyards also called The Benches (Horse Heaven Hills) clone 7. This wine aged for twenty-four months in 100% new French oak and it is a beauty. Rich, delicious, smooth with enough structure to age for ten plus years. The bold flavors and tannin structure go nicely with short ribs, mushroom risotto or triple creme cheese. Save this one for a special occasion and when you drink it make sure you are also pairing it up with your best friend. Ciao!
