John has been working with Grenache grown on Red Mountain for the last five years garnering scores of 93 and 94 points from International wine critics for his Ancora Imparo.  Our 2020 vintage showcases a blend of Ciel du Cheval Grenache and our first vintage of Shaw Ridge Vineyard Grenache.  The color, depth and distinctive Grenache aromas and flavors of raspberry, pepper and earth show beautifully in this wine.  The 2020 Ancora Imparo was fermented in French oak tanks, and aged in a combination of new/used French oak barrels and clay amphoras.  With approachable tannins and a freshness as a result of aging in clay,  this wine can be enjoyed now or will age beautifully for the next five to seven years.
