Mourvèdre is a shining star among grapes grown in the hot climate vineyards of Washington. Our 2022 vintage blends Mourvèdre from the steep, rocky slopes of Red Mountain’s Shaw Ridge Vineyard, Margaret’s Vineyard, and Stillwater Creek Vineyard with 18% Cabernet Sauvignon from Stillwater Creek Vineyard. We think you’ll agree that “just a titch” (a favorite phrase of Tommy Bigelow’s!) of stellar Stillwater Cabernet Sauvignon lifts this medium-bodied red to create a wine with striking flavors of cranberry and dark cherry while preserving the bright acidity and nuanced green pepper characteristics of Mourvèdre. 

 

Our club members provide us with valuable insight and observations and we’re always listening. This ‘22 vintage was inspired by a dear friend and longtime wine club member of JM, Lisa Hackler. JM's 2022 Mourvèdre shows the wonderful minerality so classically present in Shaw Ridge fruit. This red is a perfect choice year round, but is especially bright and refreshing when slightly chilled in the warmer months.
