Tasting Notes
Showcasing fruit from three of Washington’s most notable vineyards, Ciel du Cheval, Champoux, and Stillwater Creek Vineyards, the 2022 Old Vine Syrah is a luscious, full-bodied Syrah. This vintage represents some of the most delicious and timeless Syrah grown across three different AVA’s of the Columbia Valley.
In the Rhône tradition, John co-fermented the Syrah with 3% Viognier. A process known as co-pigmentation produces a deep purple wine with lingering dark cherry aromas. The 2022 Old Vine Syrah is delicious now and will continue to age well over the next decade and longer. The bold, blue fruit flavors of blueberry, plum, and mountain huckleberry transition into a robust, spicy mid-palate, lingering toward a memorable finish.
The Old Vine Syrah pairs well with rich cuts of meat, wild mushrooms, and international rice and noodle dishes. Raise a glass on its own for a truly indulgent treat, or share a bottle around the table with loved ones.
