JM’s first ever vintage of Vermentino hails from the dramatic terraces of Wallula Gap (The Benches) Vineyard, located high above the mighty Columbia River. While the origins of Vermentino and its travels through France and Italy are debated, Clone 1 of Vermentino originated in Tuscany’s Grosseto region and is prized for producing crisp, fruit driven white wines with bright acidity and minerality. The 2025 Vermentino was picked in mid September, went directly to press, and was cold-fermented and aged in a clay amphora for six months before bottling. The clay amphora favors minerality and preserves Vermentino’s delicate aromatics and classic varietal characteristics of green apple, pink grapefruit, with subtle Mediterranean herbaceousness. Enjoy chilled and paired with seasonal fare like grilled seafood, fresh market salads, light pasta dishes and charcuterie boards.
