Tasting Notes

The foundation of JM Cellars is rooted in John and Peggy’s steadfast dedication to their family, including their three sons, Jack, Tommy, and Joe, and their growing families. Tre Fanciulli is Italian for "three treasured lads," and every vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, with each variety representing one of the Bigelow boys. (There's a story behind each variety - ask your server who's who!) As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of this beloved JM Cellars wine, we're honored to continue the tradition with the 2023 vintage.

A Red Mountain blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from Quintessence Vineyard, Merlot from Ciel du Cheval Vineyard, and Syrah from Shaw Ridge Vineyard, the 2023 vintage departs from the traditional blend by featuring more Syrah than Merlot while Cabernet Sauvignon remains the foundation of the wine. Aromas of blueberry, bramble fruit, and violet lead to rich flavors of blackberry and plum, balanced by silky tannins. It pairs beautifully with traditional pasta dishes, grilled steaks, and vegetable stir-fries. The 2023 vintage drinks beautifully upon release and has all the components to age gracefully.
