Tasting Notes

Made of 100% Grenache from Ciel du Cheval Vineyard, the 2024 vintage marks JM Cellars' final Grenache from this iconic site - at least for now. It expresses elegant aromatics of luscious red raspberry with a hint of pink peppercorn. Cherry, cranberry, and a distinct minerality are hallmarks of Red Mountain Grenache grown on the sun-drenched, rocky slopes of Ciel du Cheval Vineyard.

The 2024 Grenache is a blend of Grenache aged in French oak and Grenache that spent nine months in an Italian terracotta amphora. The result is a wine that exhibits the best characteristics of a New World Washington Grenache - bold red fruit, earthy salinity, and minerality - balanced by a subtle Old World savory nuance.
