2018 Longevity
Tasting Notes
This year’s Longevity features two of our favorite vineyards. The Cabernet Sauvignon is from Wallula Gap Vineyards, also called The Benches, high above the Columbia River. This block, named the Stiletto block (see the aerial photo below) was planted for JM Cellars in 2015 and it is clone seven; a rarely planted clone producing incredible color and black fruit flavors. The Merlot comes from Stillwater Creek Vineyard, one of the top Merlot producing vineyards in Washington. John added a touch of Petit Verdot from Stillwater and aged the blend for twenty two months in eight percent new French oak. The wine has incredible depth and a lengthy finish, perfect for a wine named Longevity. Salute!
