The JM Cellars Founder's Reserve is crafted with what we consider to be our best grapes of the 2010 vintage. The 2010 Founder's Reserve is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (92%) and Merlot (8%) sourced exclusively from our estate vineyard, Margaret's Vineyard.
JM’s 2010 Margaret’s Vineyard Estate Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Merlot (20%), Malbec (17%), Petit Verdot (11%), and Cabernet Franc (8%). There is no Carménère in the wine because unfortunately deer ate almost all of our Carménère when it ripened. We barrel aged this wine for 22 months in 70% new French oak.
The 2010 blend of Tre is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon (Ciel du Cheval, Klipsun, and Alder Ridge Vineyard), 10% Merlot (Kiona Old Vine) and 10% Syrah (Stillwater Creek Vineyard and Klipsun). The tannins are apparent but smooth allowing this wine to age for many years for collectors.
Another great year for Malbec. This grape loves heat. The color is inky black and the flavors of dark fruit with a bit of pepper spice make this wine something special. This should pair very well with any meat dish or you can just drink it on its own. Our estate vineyard has been some of the best fruit we are picking each year and this Malbec shows the low crop yields we are creating to enhance the concentration and power in the wine. 100% Malbec
JM’s 2014 Columbia Valley Syrah was made with fruit sourced from three of my favorite vineyards growing Syrah in Washington State: Ciel du Cheval, Klipsun and Stillwater Creek. Dark fruit driven with savory and smoky notes, this wine offers a lingering, velvety finish. We love this Syrah — Cheers!
With rich aromas and flavors that remind John of his mom’s cherry cheesecake (with a crumbled graham cracker crust, of course!), this Cab was fermented in French oak tanks, aged for 22 months in 70% new French oak barrels and reveals the best fine tannins of any Red Mountain Cab we have produced. We couldn’t resist putting this one in bottle all by itself! 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2015 Louisa is our "right bank" Bordeaux blend sourced from Margaret's Vineyard. It is soft and juicy with core aromas and flavors of Bing cherries. This wine drinks beautifully now and can age for ten plus years. 91% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc
This wine has become a favorite since we first started producing it in 2010. This 2016 vintage is rich with nice acidity and tasting notes of blackberry and tapenade. Perfect for drinking now but if you can wait 5 years, will be nothing short of phenomenal!
This is the first Cabernet Sauvignon we have made from 100% fruit from our estate vineyard. Juicy with fine tannins, the 2016 Margaret’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is drinkable now but can age for ten or more years with excellent results.
JM’s 2016 vintage of Louisa is a blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc made exclusively with Margaret’s Vineyard fruit. This wine shows big rich cherry flavors with soft tannins and a lengthy finish. Only 279 cases produced. Enjoy!
A blend of 80% Malbec, 20% Petit Verdot, we believe we have found a notable location to grow Malbec; 1,300 feet above the Walla Walla valley in Margaret’s Vineyard. The vines are twelve years old and producing rich, delicious Malbec with notes of dark fruit and white pepper which reminds us of high-altitude Argentinian Malbec. Great with smokey grilled meats and vegetables, especially eggplant. Another wine-club-only wine with only 20 cases remaining after allocations have been filled.
This Bordeaux-style red blend is made with fruit sourced exclusively from our estate vineyard in Walla Walla. With soft, supple tannins and aromas of dark fruits, blackberries, cherries and plums the 2016 vintage shows all the beautiful qualities Mother Nature continues to provide us on Margaret's Vineyard.
This block of Merlot planted in 1998 sits at the top of Champoux Vineyard and has produced great Merlot for many years. 100% Merlot, this wine shows deep, rich, dark-cherry flavors. There were only six barrels made, so this is an exclusive wine club offering and will be sold out upon release.
Each year we make two different Syrahs and this is the second of the 2016 vintage. A blend of two great Syrah vineyards; Champoux and Klipsun. Smooth, silky and full of dark fruit flavors, this one is a favorite.
Champoux Vineyard produces grapes that consistently show saturated flavors and an excellent balance between acid and sugar. When we tell those who are familiar with the vineyard that we sourced Syrah from Champoux, we’re typically met with a quizzical look and the question, “I didn’t know Champoux grew Syrah?” Only a 2.5 acre block of Syrah was planted high on the hill above the Cab blocks; JM is fortunate to source all of it. We think you will see why we are so excited about this Syrah when you taste it.
