Founder's Reserve has a rich history at JM Cellars. Back in 2000, before JM Cellars had released any wine, we started a “Founders Club”. Each participant would get a case of wine annually over five years for an upfront cost of $1,000. Over the years the club evolved and by 2006 John was making a special wine for the Founders Club called Founders Reserve. Each vintage has been a blend of the best six barrels of red wine from that year. Quintessence Vineyard on Red Mountain has been the core of this wine for the last five years. The 2021 vintage is five barrels of Quintessence Cabernet Sauvignon blended with one barrel of Ciel du Cheval Syrah. The flavors are blackberry and cherry with velvety, rich mouthfeel. After allocation only 19 cases will remain.
