2018 Carménère
Tasting Notes
The 2018 vintage is 100% Carménère sourced from two vineyards, Margaret’s Vineyard and Seven Hills Vineyard. Both vineyards are in the Walla Walla AVA and located less than a quarter-mile apart. Carménère’s traditional black pepper nuances show beautifully in this vintage along with flavors and aromas of black cherry, coffee, and black olive. We like the pH on JM’s Carménère to be a little higher than any other wine we produce to ensure softness and drinkability. This vintage was aged for sixteen months in 50% new French oak and 50% once-used French oak. The history of this grape is unique and interesting. John is always happy to tell the story so please make sure to ask him about it. Drink now through 2026.
