2018 Nietos
Tasting Notes
This wine is named in honor of our business partners who joined us in 2007. We have appreciated their guidance and support as we have evolved our business over the last thirteen years together. Nietos, meaning Grandchildren in Spanish, celebrates Mike and Jackie’s eleven grandchildren (note the small number 11 on the label). Our 2018 Nietos is a blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre sourced from Stillwater Creek and Champoux Vineyards. Dark fruit notes enhanced by subtle flavors and aromas of black pepper make this a smooth and tasty wine. The fruit was foot stomped by John, fermented in French oak tanks, aged in 50% new French oak and 50% once-used French oak for 21 months. Feel free to cellar for 7-10 years.
