Tasting Notes

Nietos is a tribute to our former winery partners, Mike and Jackie Bezos, to honor the friendship, partnership, mentorship and generosity they showed us over the past 15 years. We will forever be grateful to them and continue to make Nietos every year. Meaning “grandchildren'' in Spanish, the Nietos label has a watermark “11” representing the Bezos’ eleven grandchildren. 

The ‘21 Nietos is a blend of 68% Syrah and 32% Mourvèdre from one of the top vineyards in Washington State, Stillwater Creek Vineyard. This wine has depth and richness - reminiscent of a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the southern Rhône region of France. Aged in 50% new French oak for 18 months, the ‘21 Nietos drinks smoothly now but can age for 10+ years. Cin Cin!
