Tasting Notes

Our Concrete Chardonnayis a special project inspired by our Assistant Winemaker, Tommy Bigelow. While working at the Napa Valley Reserve, Tommy became good friends with Andrew Wright, who would later become the Head Winemaker at Merryvale Winery in St. Helena."During a visit with Andrew, John and Tommy  sampled a Chardonnay he was making in a concrete egg. The Chardonnay was so good that we bought an egg the next day. Our Chardonnay projects are some of our most enjoyable in the cellar. Chardonnay often elicits strong opinions and preconceived notions but this one may surprise you. Bright and sophisticated, our third vintage of Concrete Chardonnay shines with a bouquet of pear and green apple. A distinctive minerality and vibrant acidity is the result of fermenting and aging Clone 95 Chardonnay grapes (originating from Montrachet, France) sourced out of Stillwater Creek Vineyard in a 900L concrete egg. Very limited quantities remain- get it before it sells out!
