Tasting Notes

Nietos is a tribute to our former winery partners, Mike and Jackie Bezos, to honor the friendship, partnership, mentorship and generosity they have shown us over the years. We will forever be grateful to them and continue to make Nietos every year. Meaning “grandchildren'' in Spanish, the Nietos label has a watermark, “11”, representing the Bezos’ eleven grandchildren.

The 2022 Nietos is a blend of 60% Mourvèdre and 40% Syrah from one of the top vineyards in Washington State, Stillwater Creek Vineyard. This wine delights with vibrant flavors of cherry and red berries and develops depth and richness on the palate - reminiscent of a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the southern Rhône region of France. Aged in 50% new French oak for 18 months, the 2022 Nietos drinks smoothly now but can age for 10+ years. Cin Cin!
